scan0015This is a quick sketch I did using four colors. Colored pencil on moleskine sketchbook paper. I think it took about an hour and a half, even though it’s pretty small.

Here are some recent sketches:

Someone recently asked me to draw three portraits of myself, here they are:

028Design style

026Cartoon style

027Manga style

All three are Copic sketch on 9×12 Bristol board.

Hehe, I found some old art of mine, from 2007. xD

scan0004She’s a bloody Gothic Lolita. Her arms are too long. She has no feet becasue I reached the end of the paper and that was that.

scan0005This was after I discovered Ronald Searle at the library. This is India ink on printer paper, drawn with a feather because that’s all I had to use. I need to check that book out again…

scan0006Same case as the drawing before it. :P

scan0007I was trying to do the Mary Englebright thing using both markers and colored pencils, but it didn’t really turn out the same. :P

scan0008I did this while looked at a colored pencil book. Before that I had no idea how to draw dew…I still can’t really do it, actually.

And much more recently, a self portrait I did a few minutes ago:

scan0003Hehehe xD I haven’t tried to draw Fairly OddParents style in forever.

In my search for paper I could use for sketching with Copics, I decided to try my Moleskine. I hadn’t before because the paper is so thin and pretty see-through, so I thought it wouldn’t work well. But then I discovered it works quite well!

scan0001So I played around with it and made these. The second one took a while but I like how it came out. :P

We’ve been going through things as we’ve been bringing them to our new home, and I found some of my first Copic sketches. I haven’t scanned all of them yet, but I scanned four. :D

scan0004I really like how these turned out. I used 12 Copic Sketch markers, 2 Prismacolor markers, and copier paper. They just don’t come out like this anymore, haha. :P

And for some reason, I thought Copics bled a lot more with copier paper, but seeing these reminds me that it’s not too bad. I’ve rediscovered the perfect inexpensive sketching paper that I can use with markers (lol)!

So last week I moved, and finally, finally, I was able to set up a desk of my own. Sure it’s just a couple of plastic dressers and a TV tray, but it works! And it was a heckuva lot easier to but together than a desk you could buy in a store (which was why before I was just aiming for a fold out table, but this is even better, it has drawers. In future if I’m able to I’d like to find a board to go over the dressers, but for now this is perfectly, 110% fine. :D )

So yeah, maybe I’ll end up doing more color work now, haha. I did find my set of colored pencils the other day (it’s not in the picture, the case is really large so I store it on the floor).

089You may have heard, I moved this week! Which prevented me from posting these sooner. But here they are, some notable recent sketches of mine. Sorry they have a lot of boring background behind the paper, but that’s how they came out. At least the pictures came out clear enough you can see them…haha.

Kind of unrelated, but I started a new tumblr where you can submit pictures of your favorite places. Please submit something, the only ones there now are all mine….

020I felt like drawing a new self portrait…I’ve been wanting to for a while, actually. So I did a couple of quick little ones today, here they are. Yay! I don’t normally draw like this but it’s fun to try out different things, and I have to say I like how they came out. :D

017This is a drawing I recently did for someone, they gave me permission to post it here, so here it is! :) This one was a lot of fun to make.
